There’s a lot of SK on the Bay, hopefully, I bought this one on a “Buy it now” auction and for a good price… :)

I started to look for bending informations with this item and picked up the different bends points on many sites (alien devices, Cementimental...) and also on two bending groups on Yahoo!(Bender anonymous, Benders …join us !!!).

Many people transformed their keyboards by adding pots, switches directly on the plastic case, I did not want to do the same, cause I got frustrated with this kind of mod. I am an ‘analog keyboard Korg’ enthousiast thus I decided to build a Korg MS shaped case for my SK1…

The case:

It is built in medium, which is an adequate material for this kind of project, it is easily transformable and very strong. The case, once ended was covered with black leatherette (in France, we call it Skaï…), to look like a MS10… :)

I picked up, a red light switch, and many components (handle) on different electronic devices which I found in garbage and flea markets…

I decided to adapt a power supply, but I had not the original one, I bought for 50 euro cents a Sony Cam Adaptator (220 Vac => 7.5V).
This adaptator is hidden inside the case.

The panel control is made from a steel panel. This kind of stuff is usually used in printing shop cause the blue paint on it is ultraviolet sensible. So I made a PDF and asked to my friend Jean Charles to perform it.

The electronic part:

There is 28 main bend points wired to 28 banana jacks:
The main bends are located on the 3 main ICs.

8 switchs presets, which are wired to my favorite bend points...

In the "patchbay modulation" I put three pots and wired for each two banana jacks. these pots allow to modulate or to switch between two bend points.

6 bend points that affect the drums (distortion, volume…)

2 points dedicated to the polyphony and 2 other to tune the device.

I had also a smooth power control, cause sometime, when the SK1 is bended, it freezes…you can find the details for these points here.

I will soonly add some audio samples... Quality shots there
